I have a log hewn by 'Jeremiah Johnson' from a trading store he helped to build in Columbus, Montana. It is about 12 feet in length, hand-hewn, and was removed from the original building during a remodel. The log was given as a gift to my husband, who has since passed away. The log has axe marks, is grayed in color, and I believe it is made of Cottonwood. Is there anything else the Antiques Appraiser should be aware of?
