I have a signed watercolor titled 'Bay Sloop' by Wm C Gardner. It has been in my possession for 5 years since I retired, but it was in the office I worked in for 28 years before that. I'm curious about its value and how to find out without damaging the picture. Additionally, I have another painting that looks like an oil, which is as old as or older than the Gardner painting, but I can't make out the signature due to the dark paint on a dark blue ocean background.
