I have several Louis Vuitton bags that do not have date codes but otherwise appear authentic. According to the previous owner's family, she would never buy anything fake. Some sources suggest that the lack of date codes means the bags were made before 1970. I have a sac plat bag with an unusual outside zipper and mesh lining, a speedy 35 without a date stamp, two duffle bags with slightly off heat markings, a checkbook cover, and a key holder without markings.
