I was given an envelope by my Aunt that is dated Oct.2?, 1860 from Memphis, Tenn. It was sent to my Great-grandmother in Leon, Decatur's Co., Iowa. I presume it was sent from my Great-grandfather William H. Mills. It has a picture of a soldier with his arm around a girl and an inscription under the picture "The Girl I Left Behind Me". How much would this be worth so that I can add it to my insurance?

I have an American military picture frame made by Piazzini with the number 9443 on it. It's metal, measures 8 1/4 by 6 1/8 inches, and features military-themed insignia such as crossed muskets, swords, a drum with bugles and American flags, and an eagle with spread wings. The picture viewing area is 5x3 1/4 inches. Can you tell me the value?

We found a couple of silverware boxes full of various odds and ends of pieces of silver plate or silverware. Does it decrease the value if we clean it up? I want to do the right thing with these. I will sort through them and have them appraised later.
