We have a collection of items including mostly furniture and artwork from the estate of my father and his wife. She comes from a very old northern Italian family, and the collection includes several paintings (St Jérôme, two Madonnas, a set of 10 Goya Caprichos from 1868) and 8 straight-backed dining chairs from the 16th century, as well as a few other marquetry chests and a desk from Italy. Most items are in central Long Island, New York. How can I find out if Sotheby's is interested in putting these on auction?

I have an antique sterling silver serving platter that is about 2 feet in length and a foot and a half wide, without handles. It has stamping on the back and is in almost great condition. Where can I get an appraisal, and what should I know about its authenticity and value?

Please provide information and valuation for a vintage porcelain measuring 8 1/2" × 4" with a sticker bearing the name Royal Dalton. The porcelain has an imprint that includes 'LVY', a lion figure, and a crown, and it weighs 1.5 lbs.

I have an original painting by Rudy Pozzatti, 16.5 x 22” framed, with the unframed dimensions being 14” x 20”. The painting is on fine paper and appears to have depth in the brush strokes. I initially thought it might be watercolor, but I'm unsure. The painting is in excellent condition, and I've learned that the artist has passed away. What is the nature of this painting and its potential value?

I have a few Hummels and have no idea of their value and/or where to sell them. I have a 1987 or 1967 Home From Market, a girl holding a baby, and a boy sitting on a fence with a bird next to him. They are in good condition with no boxes but no chips. They were my grandmother’s, who was married in 1925 and purchased the Hummels after that.
