I purchased two watercolor and India ink paintings by John Haymson approximately 20 years ago. One is titled 'Pasis - Kiosk and Cafe' and the other is 'Bahamas Nassau Propary's Arch'. I've examined them with a 10x loop and cannot find any sign of screening or chop marks. The frames measure 27-1/4" by 23-1/4" and the artwork fits in an area of 17-1/4" x 13-1/4". Are these originals or another form of reproduction? How can I authenticate them without damaging them? If they are originals, what would be the approximate value of each?
