I am trying to install a new front door seal (bellows) on my Kenmore/Whirlpool front load washing machine. I'm struggling to get the rear seal seated on the outer (larger) tub rim. Is there some kind of trick or procedure that will help? I haven't even gotten to the point where I install the retaining spring.

Replaced the lid lock switch on a Maytag MVWC555DW washer (coil was open). Now the lid will not lock. Checked coil resistance and it's OK. The washer won't run auto diagnostics and must be stepped through manually. The lid lock light won't come on and the lid won't lock during the test. The lid lock light flashed before replacing the burned-out switch. Diagnostic codes say the lid won't lock and won't unlock. What could be the issue?
