I bought a Kenmore stove/oven in 2007 with a self-cleaning feature. When I used it for the first time today, the house filled with a noxious white smoke from the oven vent. The house still smells like burned plastic after 7 hours. The oven behaves normally now, but I am concerned about the smoke issue and whether there could have been any plastic or other materials in the back of the stove that could have melted during the cleaning process. Can the back of the stove be removed to check for any issues?
