I have a 12-year-old GE Microwave/Convection Cooking Center. When I pressed the microwave express cook, the unit gave off a sizzling sound behind the console and didn't heat the food. I tried it again, and the same thing happened, resulting in a lockout. The convection oven is working fine, but the microwave part seems to be malfunctioning. I called GE repair, but the service man can't come until November 15, more than two weeks away, and then I would have to wait another week for parts and repair. Any alternative solutions would be appreciated.

I have a Kenmore top-loading high-efficiency low-water washer model 2130. During the wash and rinse cycles, it has started making a loud screeching noise that sounds like metal grinding on metal. The cycle completes and the clothes get done, but I think I'm waking up the neighbors. The noise seems to be coming from the top left of the machine during the agitation parts of the cycle, and the spins are okay with no noise. What could be causing this noise and what should I check?

I have a Fridgidaire Gallery Fridge with the fridge temperature set at 4°C, but the actual temperature is around 10°C, causing milk to spoil sooner than expected. Is there a way to recalibrate the temperature sensor the fridge uses to set the temperature?
