I have a dishwasher that won't start the cycle. The model number is W10199645 (corrected to MD87609AWW1). I took off the control panel and jiggled the wiring, but it didn't help. The three setting buttons on the left side don't light up when pressed, and only two of the three buttons on the right side light up. Nothing happens when I press the 'start' button. What could be the issue and what should I check or do next?

My Kenmore front load washer (model 110.45862400) won't start. The lights come on, and I can change the settings and water temp, but when I push the start button, it won't start. A small piece fell into the drum when I opened it, possibly from the lock part. My son replaced the part on the door but not the part attached to the machine. Still, it's not working. What should I do?
