I have a Frigidaire Gallery side-by-side refrigerator that started making a loud noise similar to a lawnmower, coming from the freezer side. The noise gets softer when I open the freezer door. I had a similar issue in June that required replacing a motor, and it's Labor Day weekend, so I can't get immediate service. Is it safe to leave the refrigerator running until I can get a repair person out, or should I turn it off to avoid potential danger or losing my food?

My Frigidaire FFHS2611PF4 refrigerator is not defrosting. It's about 10 years old and this issue has been ongoing for 3 weeks. I've replaced the damper door and tried online instructions for defrosting, but couldn't find the exact model to know if I pressed the right buttons. I've also checked the fridge temperature sensor with a multimeter and it's okay. How can I force a defrost cycle to determine if the heater and sensor are functioning correctly without removing the back panel?
