I have a GE Monogram griddle that lights and stays on for 2-3 minutes before going off and won't relight until it cools off. The griddle has 4 burners, a grill, and a griddle, and is approximately 15 years old. This is the first time I've tried to use it. What could be the issue and how can it be resolved?

Replaced the lid lock switch on a Maytag MVWC555DW washer (coil was open). Now the lid will not lock. Checked coil resistance and it's OK. The washer won't run auto diagnostics and must be stepped through manually. The lid lock light won't come on and the lid won't lock during the test. The lid lock light flashed before replacing the burned-out switch. Diagnostic codes say the lid won't lock and won't unlock. What could be the issue?
