I have a Hotpoint sensor dryer, about 18 months old, that developed a fault causing it to overheat and smoke at the back. The felt at the center of the back of the dryer has gone black and smouldered. I suspect it was overloaded with laundry. What could be the cause of this overheating, and is it fixable?

I have a Samsung French door refrigerator with an icemaker. After a recent power outage, the display screen is showing 88 08 and changing to 88 88.
