I have a Maytag oven where the burner indicator light stays on and the burner remains active even when all control switches are off. I have to cut the power by the breaker. What could be wrong?

I have a Whirlpool Duet Dryer (Gas) model GGW9200lw0. The clothes don't dry all the way, they are still a little damp, especially towels and any elastic waistbands. I checked the venting and it's unobstructed. Is there a way to check the thermistor? This model also has a clothing wetness sensor.

I have a Maytag double oven stove, model number MER6550Baw. I ran the self-cleaning cycle on the upper oven last night. The door would not unlock after the cycle, although the lock light had gone off. I tried running the cleaning cycle on the lower oven and turning off the circuit breaker for 40 minutes, but the upper door still won't open. Is there anything else I can try?
