I have a new Whirlpool washer that has been used about 10 times. It filled up and drained but didn't spin. The wash light stays on after it drains, and nothing happens. I have tried different settings and unplugged it for 10 minutes, but it still doesn't spin. What can I do to get it working?

We have an 8.5kg top loader washing machine (model GW712) that is not doing a final spin nor pumping out the remaining water. There is also a slight burning smell and it takes some time before it starts to rotate. Is this worth repairing as the machine is over 10 years old, and if it was worth repairing, what kind of cost would be involved?

When I press the power button on my front load Whirlpool Duet washing machine, it lights up, but when I press the start button, I hear several noises but the machine does not start. The lights on the start button flash and make a dinging noise. When I remove my finger from the button, the noise stops, the light goes off, and the washer does not start. The machine also shut off midway through a cycle, requiring me to press start again. What could be the issue?
