I have a Sears Kenmore front load washer model number 417.48102701 with a serial number XC84407339. I have a Maytag Neptune TL washing machine that is about fifteen years old. It goes through the wash cycle but will not shift to the rinse cycle and fails in all other cycles. The tub activates for about five seconds, stops for thirty seconds, and repeats, with no water coming on, and the mode indicator stays in the wash cycle. What could be the issue, and what are the estimated costs to fix it?

This stopped the procedure, but the door remains locked 15 hours later. What should I do to unlock and open the door?
