I have a stacked Kenmore dryer, model # XXXXX, that spins but does not heat. There is 220v getting to the machine, and I have checked the continuity of the heating element. The machine is difficult to work on due to its location. I am considering separating the dryer from the washer but the screw in front turns without coming out. Before proceeding, I want to know if there may be a safety feature or other issue causing the problem. I do not have a wiring diagram and am guessing the element may be opening when it starts getting hot. What should I check next?
