I have a top-loading washer that is not engaging the lid lock, allowing the washer to start. When I start a cycle, I hear the lid lock try to engage but it doesn't. What could be the issue and how can it be fixed?

I smell gas when my Whirlpool range (model WFG320M0BB1, about 5 years old) is off. This has been going on for a couple of weeks. The gas man came out and turned off a switch that allowed us to use the stove top but not the stove. What should I do?

We just installed a new GE laundry center. It was working fine, but now it won't spin. I tried resetting it by turning off the breaker for 5 minutes, which worked once but not today.
