I have a Whirlpool top-loading washing machine, model WTW5640XW0, with a flashing lid lock light on the control panel after replacing the lid lock and actuator pump. The control panel allows me to switch cycles, but when I press start, it just beeps and nothing moves. In test mode, none of the tests operate due to the lid lock error. What should I do to fix this issue?

I have a KitchenAid appliance, specifically a KSsc48fts00 fridge, which I believe was damaged by an electrical surge. A repairman has replaced the control board, but the unit still acts like it has no power. He then replaced the old control board, and the unit still had no power. My neighborhood also experienced a power outage after he replaced the old board. What could be the issue, and what steps should I take to fix it?
