I have an Amana refrigerator SBD21VE with a non-available part D7854104 (photoelectric cell). I believe there might be a substitute part, a wire jumper (D7726590 or D7726593), which could power the night light all the time. Which is the correct part number, and is there a part/instruction diagram available to provide details to local service people who are unaware of a replacement or workaround?

I have a washer model # XXXXX serial # XXXXX. It takes up to 10 minutes to balance the load before entering the spin cycle and then gets into heavy and noisy vibrations during the spin cycle. A service technician suggested replacing the control board (part number 34001479) to accommodate a sensor that would manage the vibrations. The part costs over $500, and I'm unsure if it would help shorten the load balancing time. Is there anything else that can be done without replacing the control board?
