I purchased a new house with a water softener. It has been three months since I looked in the salt chamber, and it has no salt and about 3 gallons of water with some sediment on the bottom. I purchased four forty-pound bags of salt. Should I empty the water and clean the salt container or just dump in the salt? What are the next steps for setting up and maintaining the water softener?

My LG washer WM3400CW is making loud noises, the drum moves up and down by hand as if loose, and there is rusty water at the back from the motor area. The rotor does not appear to be loose. What is the repair and is it worth it?

My 2016 Whirlpool refrigerator's ice maker (model #WRF757SDEMCI) stopped working after a 14-hour power outage. The ice maker is 6 years old and has never had its water filter replaced. What are the part numbers for the shipping bolts compatible with the LG WM3500, WM3700, and WM3900 front load washer series, and do I need one of each or are they interchangeable?
