Just bought a new fridge from Lowe's and trying to get water to come in the ice maker. Water pressure is good, and the fridge is brand new. I have flushed the water line and pushed on the ice maker. The manual mentioned a metal lever to pull, but I don't see it. What should I do?

My Kenmore refrigerator, purchased in 2014, has been experiencing temperature fluctuations where the fridge compartment goes up to 50-60 degrees once or twice a day for an hour or so, while the freezer remains at 0 degrees. There is a buildup of ice on the exterior back and at the bottom of the ice maker. We live in a rural area and are unable to get an appliance repair person until January 7. What can we do to diagnose and potentially fix this issue?
