My 15-year-old Kenmore HE 2t washer door will not open and remains in the locked position. There is a full load of wash in the machine. I have unplugged the washer and waited over an hour, then plugged it in again multiple times. Sometimes it will go through the cycle and stop with one minute remaining. I have checked the drain filter and cleaned it. I have drained the water each time it has been in the drum. I have removed the top and looked for any emergency release latch but cannot find one. What should I do?

What does 'control locked' mean on the ice maker controls, and how do I fix it? The fridge is about 7 years old, and the ice maker has been displaying this issue for about a week. I haven’t tried anything yet, but I presume it might be the water filter.
