My Amana refrigerator temperature dial is not working. The model is SXD25QA3L, and it's about 20 years old. When I turn the temperature dial, I can't hear any noise like before. The fan in the freezer is not running, and there's no build-up of water or ice, but water still freezes. The compressor seems to be running smoothly after I vacuumed out the dust. What could be the issue, and what should I do?

My washing machine, a Whirlpool Commercial Quality Super Capacity 7-cycle 3-speed combination model about 10 years old, has issues with filling properly. It either fills non-stop regardless of the lid being open or closed, preventing it from moving into the agitation cycle, or it completes the first wash and rinse cycles but fails to fill for the second rinse cycle. The issue is intermittent and sometimes resolves after letting the machine rest. What could be the problem and what can I do to fix it?
