Dryer will not shut off

My front-loading washer, which is a little over a year old, is not working. The display lights up and acts like it wants to work, but then does nothing. The display remains lit. The previous load may have stopped prematurely due to being out of balance. I have tried resetting the circuit breaker, but it still doesn't work. What could be the issue and what steps should I take to fix it?

How does this work? I have a problem with my stove top range hood. It sparked and stopped working this morning. The stove is electric, and the issue is with the range hood's exhaust chimney. It tripped the fuse for the stove and related appliances. I switched the fuse back, but only the stove came up; the exhaust hood is not working anymore, with no power coming on. I am not a hands-on person and do not know how to unhinge the hood or what is needed. Maybe I can do it with some guidance.

I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side refrigerator bought in 2012. For the past three years, there has been a loud noise like an automatic gun when drawing water from the automatic dispenser.
