My Centennial top-loading washer, about 10 years old, will not go past the wash mode. I tried running the diagnostic code generator and found codes F8E1 and 'no fill, long fill.' The water is hooked up, and the pressure is fine. What could be the issue, and what steps should I take to diagnose and potentially fix it?

My Whirlpool top-loading washing machine, purchased in 2013, is not working. It runs a test mode and displays error codes F7E1 and F7E7. The unit locks the door, senses the load, then stops, and the door won't unlock even if I hold the start button, requiring me to unplug and replug to open it. What could be the issue and how should I proceed?
