My Whirlpool washer, which is a top-load model of unknown age, keeps going back to running water during the cycle. This has been happening for about a week. I'm disabled and on limited funds, so I'm wondering if I need to replace it or if there's a cheaper service option.

My GE top load washer model PTW600BPR1DG will not change cycle from spin, it enters CHI mode but does not go into field service mode, giving an error beep and returning to the spin cycle. The washer is 1 year old and previously had a balancing issue which has been resolved. I have tried power cycling the machine, leaving it unplugged overnight, performing the 6 lift and close the lid procedure, and checking the connections on the control board. I have also replaced the door switch with part number GE WH08X31577, but the issue persists. What could be the problem and what should I do next?

I have a Magic Chef HV363-a downdraft vent that raises and retracts immediately after trying to run the fan, which struggles to start. Sometimes it starts but most of the time it retracts within a few seconds. The issue has been happening for about 4 weeks. What could be causing this and what can I do to fix it?
