The felt strips on both the back and front of the drum are burnt up, with the front strip being burnt and torn. The metal on the drum is scraping against the metal on the front panel, destroying the ceramic coating and creating jagged edges. I have already replaced the drum wheels, belt, pulley, and sensors on the heating element, but the dryer still overheats and doesn't go through the cool-down phase. My clothes come out smelling burnt and too hot to touch. Should I replace the felt strips and the ceramic coating on the front panel, or is it time to get a new dryer?
