I am curious about the weight of gear oil from a Whirlpool direct drive washer versus a GE filter-flo washer. The Whirlpool washer is GSW9800PW2 and the GE filter-flo model is WWA8300GALW. Why do the gear oils smell identical? Are they the same?

My ice maker isn't working. The refrigerator is 5 years old, and the filter was changed approximately 3 months ago. The issue started in the last couple of days. I've tried turning the ice maker on and off, and pulling out the storage bin. The water dispenser in the door is working, but the ice maker motor makes noise without producing ice. The bin is not full, and the auger inside the bin turns freely. There is a switch on the ice maker, which I've turned off and on again. The mold where ice is formed is hard to see into, but it doesn't appear to have ice stuck in it. The arm on the ice maker moves smoothly without resistance and stays down. What could be the issue, and what should I do next?
