Our Kitchen Aid dishwasher is leaving a white film on all the clean dishes. We use Jet-Dry and Cascade liquid detergent and have tried every setting. How do we get it to leave the dishes sparkling clean?

I have a Kenmore front load washer Model # XXXXX that appears to be dripping water from where the two halves of the drum are bolted together. Are these a repairable unit? My GE water softener overflowed with water and salt from a hole in the brine tank. I cleaned the assembly with venturi and screens, but now the softener won't fill during regeneration. I removed most of the salt, and there is some water in the tank, but it doesn't move at all during regeneration. What could be the issue and how can I fix it?
