My KitchenAid refrigerator model KSCS25FVMS01 is not dispensing water, but the ice machine works, and there is temporary water flow for less than a second each time the water dispenser front pad is pressed. The pad has been degrading, requiring more force to activate it. What should I do to fix this issue?

I have a Whirlpool GC2000PE1 garbage disposal with two hose holes. The disposal is much older than the 8 years we've lived here, and it reads GC2000PE1 volts 120 hp1/2 ip# s/n FNL4916717, Hz60 amps6.9 class b insulation thermal protection, and on the bottom E17939 517L. The top opening looks to be about 5". Where can I get a replacement, and if it doesn't fit, can it be exchanged? I need to do this myself due to a fixed income and can't afford a plumber. Additionally, the dishwasher hole on the new disposal is much larger than the old one. How can I modify the hose to prevent leaks?
