My LG wm2016cw washing machine is smoking from the interior, the drum moves a lot in all three axes, and I'm considering disassembling it to examine the spider. Should I continue the disassembly, and if the spider is obviously bad, should I replace the rear bearings as a precaution? Additionally, where should I examine the stator for wear, and should I replace the front door seal?

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus 940 Series washing machine. It turns on and fills with water, but when it's time to start the wash cycle, it does nothing. Pressing the cancel/drain button also does nothing. It sounds like something tries to click on but nothing runs. What could be the issue?
