My Whirlpool GU3200xtpso dishwasher has a clean light blinking seven times then pausing. I've tested the heating element and it's okay. The buttons are off, exposing clear plastic, but they still operate. I suspect it might be time for a new touch pad and control module. I have a Maytag top load washer PAV2300AWW made in 2005. It spins slow and does not drain, but if I open and close the lid or stop and restart the cycle, it works fine. I have replaced the transmission, belt, timer, snubber ring, suspension springs, and water pump. What else could be causing this issue?

Ever since I had two power outages in one week, my Maytag Atlantis washing machine (model# MVWX655DW0, 10 years old) is behaving strangely. It fills with water but then stops. I have to turn it off, then on, and raise and lower the lid again for the agitation to start. I tried resetting it by unplugging the power and raising/lowering the lid 6 times, but that doesn't keep it reset. What could be the issue, and is it a simple fix or do I need a repairperson?
