My French-door fridge, a Haier HTD647AW, about 7 years old, has started making a very loud hum, which we suspect might be the compressor. The noise cuts in and out and started over the Christmas break, gradually increasing in volume. The fridge is still keeping things cold. How do I organize for someone to come look at it, what charges would this incur, and is there anything I can try before calling for service?

I have a GE PSC23PSSA SS refrigerator. The freezer temperature is at 0 degrees, all food is frozen, but the new ice maker (Model CAN17) is not producing ice. The ice maker tray has water but it does not freeze. What could be the issue and how can I fix it?
