On a normal clean cycle, my dishwasher stops at 44 minutes and just sits there. The soap dispenser has emptied and dishes appear to be clean. I cancel and it drains the water. I then run a Rinse Only cycle and that appears to work. What could be causing this issue and is it repairable without costing more than a new unit?

I need help with repairing my KitchenAid Automatic washer (Model #KAWS850JQ0). The lid switch is broken, and I have mechanically wired it in the shut position, which allows the wash cycle to work. Should I bypass the lid switch by cutting the wires and taping them together?
