I need help wiring a Whirlpool dryer model # XXXXX heating element. I have a blue, red, and black wire. The black wire splices into a black and a red wire. Which wires go to the heating element and which go to the thermostat? They were previously burnt off, so I'm not sure which goes to which.

I took the model number off the tag inside the combo unit, but I'm not sure if the 'i' in the model number might actually be an 'L'. I have a GE dishwasher model GSD5500G00BB serial DD774789B that is not cleaning well, especially the top rack.
