There is an extremely loud screeching noise when my older model dryer (de412 Series 02, serial number o96685PT) is turned on. What could be causing this noise and how can I fix it?

My ice maker has stopped working. It dispensed the ice cubes and has stopped with the tines or teeth that remove the ice cubes pointed up and the wire bar sticking out in the full position. I have held the on switch for 15 seconds and it does not advance. I have turned it off and then on. I have shut off the entire fridge for 5 minutes, turned it on and ran a self diagnostic test without any diagnostic problem. Do you have a solution to my problem? Do I need to replace the ice maker?

My Kenmore dehumidifier model 580.54351800 won't run. I suspect the sensor, but I'm looking for something more concrete. I've checked the main PCB, the fuse is fine, and it passes the nose and visual test for fried components. The empty-full switch ohms out just fine. How can I further diagnose the issue?
