We have an LG Dishwasher Model #LDF7811ST. It seems to be working OK, but after every load, I am finding tiny black tar-like particles on my clean dishes. Is this a known issue, and is it something we can repair ourselves?

Replaced the lid lock switch on a Maytag MVWC555DW washer (coil was open). Now the lid will not lock. Checked coil resistance and it's OK. The washer won't run auto diagnostics and must be stepped through manually. The lid lock light won't come on and the lid won't lock during the test. The lid lock light flashed before replacing the burned-out switch. Diagnostic codes say the lid won't lock and won't unlock. What could be the issue?
