What will happen to a Whirlpool WTW5000DW1 top-loading washer if the belt is going bad? The washer started making noise during agitation yesterday and today it seems that the tub spins weakly, making a weird noise during the spin cycle but the agitate cycle sounds normal. Water drains. There has been an occasional hot rubber smell over the past few months.

I have an LG Refrigerator that was part of a class action lawsuit. Since June, multiple service visits have made the issues worse. The compressor was noisy, so they replaced it along with other parts, but the fridge temperature remains at 50 degrees. The freezer has also defrosted, and now neither the fridge nor the freezer works, only a hum from the motor. What could be causing this and how can it be resolved?
