Why are clothes coming out wet from the washer, and how can I explain this to the end user when this issue was not happening before?

I have a KitchenAid washer and dryer that have been stored for two years. The washer works and then shuts off, usually during the spin cycle. There is an electrical smell when it quits. What could be the issue, and what should I do to fix it?

I have a vintage 2003 Bosch dishwasher model SHU9955UC/U12. The sliding door on the soap dispenser won't stay closed. The problem appears to be that the latch and the tab on the sliding door it hooks on to are both worn. Would it be easier just to replace the latch assembly and the door, or should I replace the entire dispensing unit?

My Fisher Paykel GWL15 washer leaks when it is filling. The water comes out of the hose at the top right so intensely that it splashes over the top of the drum. What is the cause?

What would cause the drain/spin cycle of my Sears Kenmore 90 series electric top load washing machine (Model 110 20912 990, Serial CK1536851, Type 111) to not complete, working sometimes but not others, and requiring manual rotation of the dial to get it to work? The drain cycle starts but stops after a few seconds.
