I have a Whirlpool washer 'Estate-TAWS690A'. The motor works well, but it doesn't drain water and just stays in the washer. What could be wrong with my washer and how can I repair this problem?

Lightning may have run in on my Samsung washer. After a bad storm that knocked out all electricity, the washer would not power back on. I checked out the outlet and it works for other things. Would replacing the small circuit or computer board possibly fix the problem?

I have an Amana Electric oven/range, model ARR56550E. The stove continues to work fine, but the oven, its touch controls, and the display window have all stopped working. The light still comes on when you open the oven door, but that's all. What could be the issue and is there a way to troubleshoot or fix it without replacing the entire control board?
