My dryer has stopped working, even though it's still plugged in and the breaker hasn't tripped. The drum light doesn't come on, and the dryer had its vent cleaned out a week ago. What could be the issue?

I found a purple rubber round item, approximately 9 inches in diameter and about 1/4 inch wide, in the bottom of my KitchenAid Supurba Whisper Quiet Ultima dishwasher. It is from 1999 and is 11 years old. Is this a part that belongs to the dishwasher, and if so, where does it go?

I have a Samsung washer and dryer, model DV 419AEW/XAA (Dryer) and WF 419AAW (Washer). I am moving from NJ to NC and need to know how to properly secure these appliances for the move to prevent damage. Specifically, I need instructions on how to use the shipping bolts for the washer, as the manual only provides instructions for removal, not installation.
