I ran Spyware Stop and it found some cookies and two infected files: Adware-Media-c:\\windows\\help\ ocontnt.gid and Trojan-Fakealert-c:\\windows\\system32\\13.tmp. Could you tell me what they are, how I got them, and what to do to correct them? I deleted the infected files but then I couldn't open anything and got an "error 0xc0000142". I restored the infected files and then I could open anything. How do I properly remove these infections and prevent future issues?
