I have a problem with the screen on my Lenovo XS60. It got banged while traveling and now has a big black spot and some black lines on it. Can you tell me if it is possible to get a new part or to otherwise repair this?

I have a Dell XPS M2010 running Vista Home Premium. After installing a recommended Windows update, my system no longer boots, displaying an error message about a failed partition and suggesting not to reboot. I have tried various boot options and repair methods, including using an external CD/DVD drive, but none have worked. My internal CD/DVD drive is also not functioning. I have an Acer Aspire 5810T. I can boot from the DVD drive, but I have problems loading, reading, or accessing CDs or DVDs in the DVD drive once I've booted up using various operating systems like Windows 7, Ubuntu 9, and Puppy Linux. The DVD drive either won't mount or it mounts for a short time and then disappears. Any ideas?
