I have an HP Compaq notebook PC (nx9420) that recently locked up. I reinstalled the Operating System on a FAT32 system, but it now shows an 'unknown operating system' error and runs out of RAM during boot. I tried reinstalling the OS again on an NTFS partition, but I want to remove the multiple installations and repair the original OS. How can I do this?

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G20 laptop. It was out of warranty, and I needed to replace the fans. After replacing the fans and upgrading the memory, the laptop won't boot up, showing a black screen even with a secondary monitor. I checked for loose connections but couldn't figure it out. Any suggestions?

I am adding a second computer to my existing DSL phone line. I think I need a second modem, but do I need any other hardware to set this up? Where do I get a modem and any other hardware I might need?
