I have 600GB of data in my /DATA directory, which I want to mirror to a new 2TB external drive on my LAN. The /DATA directory contains hundreds of complex sub-folders with thousands of files. I don't care how long the first backup will take. Isn't there a way a Linux computer can do this with one command? I've tried using FileZilla and FreeFileSync, but they didn't provide a complete backup. My main machine is Linux Mint, and the remote machine is a Raspberry Pi with Ubuntu and a WD 2TB Passport. I want to know if there's a straightforward command to perform a recursive copy via SSH, and if there are any suggestions for ensuring a complete backup, including handling hidden files and potential issues with in-use files.
