I have a Gateway All in One touchscreen computer. My mouse has stopped communicating with the computer, and I have to use the touchscreen. What could be the issue, and how can I troubleshoot it?

I have a MacBook Pro running Yosemite. I bought a Delkin universal card reader and followed the instructions to download Mac drivers. After downloading, I received a message about updating firmware, which seemed unusual. Does it seem like the firmware update might cause issues with the Mac?

When I plug in a USB to VGA adaptor (NS-PU95203) on a Windows 8 HP Envy laptop, no install wizard runs and the second monitor stays in sleep mode. What can I do to resolve this issue?

A box on my screen says 'Critical Error - Start menu and Cortana aren't working. We'll try to fix it the next time you sign in.' The blue box is about 2in x 7in, in the middle of the screen and won't go away. I've signed out several times and waited before signing back in but it won't go away. What can I do to resolve this issue?
