I have an HP Evy 1700 SE NB PC. The computer turns on but the screen remains blank (black). I live in the US Virgin Islands and the computer repair people are only OK at best. I want to know if you can provide a solution or if I should have HP do the work. I believe the warranty has expired, but I'm not sure. I've had my Tom Tom for years and decided to update it. I've tried creating an account 5 times, but every time I click on create an account, the original info screen comes on stating to enter a valid email address, even though I entered a valid address. What could be the issue?

We are getting a message on our Toshiba laptop asking for a password. It says 'PHOENIX TRUSTEDCORE (TM) SETUP UTILITY'. I do not know the password to get past this screen. My father passed away and we are trying to get pictures off of the computer to make a collage for the funeral so it's so important that I get this fixed. How can I bypass this BIOS password to access the files?
