I have Windows 7 32-bit installed on a high-spec laptop. I am trying to install Adobe PDF Reader, the free version from the Adobe website, but I keep getting a 'getplus R error' and the installation closes without loading the program. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP Professional that has become slow. I used the 'Detect and Repair' feature, which seems to have caused issues, prompting me to insert a Windows XP disk to reinstall it. I don't have this disk. What can I do to resolve this issue?

Windows 7 firewall is turned on by domain policy, and it is blocking access to a SQL application on the server. The vendor has confirmed that the firewall is the issue. I cannot find a group policy that would tell a workstation to keep the firewall on and not allow an override. How can I resolve this issue, either by retaining the firewall in the ON state but allowing access to the SQL application, or by turning off the Windows firewall without causing conflicts with the corporate firewall?
