I lost Google Chrome on my desktop and cannot download it. I get a message stating 'Cannot continue the application is improperly formatted. Contact the application vendor for assistance'. I have a Dell computer with Windows 7, purchased in 2009 or 2010. I recently installed updates and deleted Slimware, which I believe caused the problem. What can I do to resolve this issue?

I recently had work done on my computer due to a scam and lost access to my Gmail account. I have tried changing passwords and accessing through Google, but with no success. I have had this issue for 2 weeks and primarily access my email through gmail.com. I also have a previous email account with a recognized but inaccessible password. How can I restore access to my Gmail account?
